As we all know IPL stands for Indian Premier League is an accomplished Twenty20 cricket league, In which 8 teams take part that is based on eight distinguished Indian cities. The IPL was established by BCCI in the year 2007 with the purpose of encouraging cricket in India. The new season of IPL was all set to begin from 9th April 2021 but due to the COVID-19 pandemic, there are some rules and regulations regarding this IPL(2021).

Here are some new rules for IPL 2021:

1. Match Duration – The BCCI has reduced the duration of the match from 180 minutes to 90 minutes. Also, the 90 minutes is divided into two parts 85 minutes is match time and 5 minutes for time outs. Moreover the decision to remove “ Soft Signal” has been taken by BCCI.

2. Short-run call – The on-field umpire’s decision can be overruled by the third umpire as the BCCI has given this power to the third umpire so that the best decision should be made without keeping the call of the on-field umpire in mind.

3. Uninterrupted matches-  As per updated IPL rules, the matches are uninterrupted which means the 20th over should be completed by 90 minutes.
